Cable and Wireless plc ("Cable & Wireless") has today published prospectuses for the demerger and public listing of its two businesses, along with a circular to shareholders seeking their approval for the transaction. The demerger will result in separate public listings for Cable & Wireless Worldwide plc and Cable & Wireless Communications Plc. The demerger is expected to complete by the end of March 2010. Gleacher Shacklock is acting as joint financial adviser to Cable & Wireless on the demerger and as joint sponsor of Cable and Wireless Worldwide plc and Cable and Wireless Communications Plc.
